Venable attorneys have consistently volunteered with Pro Bono Partnership since 2014, and have assisted Partnership clients with a wide variety of legal matters.

Venable’s New York real estate team has been particularly helpful to one of our amazing clients, Wolf Conservation Center (“WCC”), a nonprofit environmental education organization working to protect and preserve wolves in North America through science-based education, advocacy, and participation in the federal recovery and release programs for two critically endangered wolf species. In late 2019, WCC contacted Pro Bono Partnership seeking assistance reviewing several architect and construction contracts related to the construction of their new education center.

Venable real estate partner Michael Phillipou and associate Neda Ameri worked tirelessly with WCC on this project, helping WCC address the twists and challenges that come with even the most well-planned development projects. Their work is best described by WCC Board Member Dean S. Travalino. “Design and pre-construction for our new Education Pavilion has been an exciting undertaking for our small but growing environmental organization. The process has been far less daunting thanks to the generous support of Venable LLP. Michael Phillipou and Neda Ameri have been outstanding not only for their expertise in the field, but their patience, dedication, and ability to guide us in a way that has made them an integral part of our facilities team.”

As a result of the legal guidance provided by Venable, WCC is better positioned to fulfill its mission of promoting conservation, ecological balance, and personal responsibility for improved stewardship of our world. We are so appreciative for Michael and Neda’s hard work and dedication to WCC, and all of those at Venable who support pro bono work.
