Christine McInerney, Deputy General Counsel at The Nature’s Bounty Co., began volunteering with Pro Bono Partnership (PBP) in 2018, soon after the PBP Long Island office opened.  Christine also serves on the PBP Long Island Advisory Committee, playing a key role in the strategic growth and development of our Long Island office.

Christine has assisted several PBP clients with general contracts matters.  Earlier this year, Christine reviewed and revised several waiver and internal forms for Sights on Health, Inc., a nonprofit that provides annual cataract surgical and medical missions to those in need in South America, and recently in parts of the United States as well.  Like so many of our resource-constrained nonprofit clients, Christine’s pro bono legal work allowed Sights on Health to allocate funds toward programming and successfully achieving its goals.  Christine’s expertise and quick turnaround enabled waivers to be provided to volunteers ahead of an upcoming medical mission.  Debra Messina, President of Sights on Health, wrote in a thank you letter to Christine that “[i]t is because of professionals like you that we are able to ensure the vast majority of our donations go directly to providing care to those in need.”

Providing meaningful, transactional pro bono opportunities to in-house attorneys is one of the Partnership’s main objectives.  Christine, like so many of our in-house volunteers, appreciates the ability to “volunteer for work that aligns with my expertise and availability, without fear that the demands of the pro bono representation might interfere with my obligations to my corporate employer.”  We are truly grateful to Christine for her support of PBP’s mission and the continued growth of our Long Island office.
