Campolo, Middleton & McCormick, LLP (CMM), a corporate law firm with offices across Long Island, is a dedicated supporter of the Pro Bono Partnership. Christine Malafi is the chair of CMM’s corporate department and has been a member of the Pro Bono Partnership Long Island Advisory Committee for three years, joining shortly after our Long Island office opened in 2017. During that time, Christine and corporate associate Kyle Broderick have assisted on several matters for Long Island nonprofits. Christine and Kyle’s dedication, as well as the support of the entire firm, has been critical to the success and growth of our Long Island clients.
Christine and Kyle have worked on a variety of pro bono projects for local charities including drafting privacy and terms of use policies, reviewing employee handbooks, and drafting and reviewing a variety of corporate documents. YES Community Counseling Center (YES CCC), a Long Island-based nonprofit dedicated to increasing awareness about personal and community issues, preventing and treating substance abuse, and promoting healthy families and a safe community came to the Partnership seeking assistance revising their bylaws, conflict of interest, and
whistleblower policies. Christine and Kyle accepted the assignment and worked closely with YES CCC until the revised documents were approved by its Board of Directors. After the matter was completed, Executive Director Jamie Bogenshutz wrote: “as a nonprofit organization we are often times confronted by the reality that our fiscal resources often pose limitations on what we are able to accomplish regarding compliance with legal standards. Thankfully, through the Pro Bono Partnership and [CMM] this is no longer a concern for our organization.”
