Bill Roberts, Chair of the Privacy and Data Projection practice at Shipman & Goodwin, has been an active Pro Bono Partnership volunteer since 2009. We were thrilled to see that Bill, along with several other Pro Bono Partnership volunteers, was recently honored by the Hartford Business Journal in its annual 40 Under Forty awards, which recognizes the top up-and-coming young professionals who are leading their respective organizations.
Bill assisted Pro Bono Partnership client Outside Perspectives on two unique matters. For a small organization like Outside Perspectives, a nonprofit course and expedition program that partners with youth organizations and schools to provide transformative outdoor experiences, Bill’s time and expertise is truly invaluable. Nicola Wood, Outside Perspective’s Executive Director, stated that in addition to conducting a multi-state camp regulation research review, Bill’s “help was also crucial in reviewing our participant health and waiver forms with the legal scrutiny needed to make sure we are as protected as we can be. His guidance was not only helpful, but gave us peace of mind moving forward as an organization.”
Bill has assisted many other Pro Bono Partnership clients including The Global Foundation for Ocean Exploration, Inc., a Connecticut based nonprofit dedicate to helping society understand, interpret and protect the critical ocean environment; Connecticut Alliance to end Sexual Violence; Central Area Health Education Center, and Community Economic Development Fund Foundation, Inc.
It is our pleasure to recognize Bill and all who support him at Shipman & Goodwin for their hard work and dedication to pro bono. View all of the 40 Under Forty honorees here.
