Bassam ZohnyReed Smith has been volunteering with Pro Bono Partnership for over 20 years, during which time nearly 70 attorneys from both their New York and New Jersey offices have provided critical legal assistance to our nonprofit clients. Last year alone, Reed Smith attorneys worked on 23 legal matters for 22 New York and New Jersey-based nonprofits.

Bassam Zohny, a Princeton, New Jersey-based finance associate, is just one of Reed Smith’s team of amazing volunteers. Although Bassam is a new volunteer, he has already worked on several significant corporate projects for our clients. Second Chance Toys, a nonprofit dedicated to donating toys to children and keeping them out of landfills, came to the Partnership last year seeking assistance with several corporate documents. Bassam quickly dove into the project and worked diligently to address all of the client’s needs. Shelly Lipton, Board Chairperson at Second Chance Toys, wrote “Bassam Zohny at Reed Smith is a real standout! Second Chance Toys was fortunate to have Bassam and his team work on a pro bono project to help our organization with an important board transition. He and his colleagues moved quickly to amend our Certificate of Incorporation and Bylaws, enabling us to align our board and formalize our succession plan.”

The Partnership and our clients are fortunate to have longstanding and reliable supporters like Reed Smith that help empower nonprofits and strengthen our communities. We are grateful for the hard work and dedication of Bassam, all of the 2020 Reed Smith volunteers, and everyone at the firm who supports their efforts.
