Dear Friends,

Pro Bono Partnership is able to fulfill its mission to provide essential legal help to nonprofits in the tristate area at no charge because of our devoted volunteers. So, it was with great pleasure that we celebrated our Volunteers of the Year at three regional events last month. Amazing energy and gratitude filled the room at each event, where volunteer attorneys had an opportunity to meet our nonprofit clients and learn firsthand what their services mean to an organization. It was a resounding success on all fronts!

You can see photos from the events on our Facebook page. While you’re there, please “LIKE” our page, and share our posts with a friend or colleague. Thank you to our Volunteers of the Year event sponsor, Pratt & Whitney, and our community partners Bristol-Myers Squibb, Holland & Knight, and Real Art Ways.

We truly appreciate your support of the Partnership and these recognition events. Last week we also held our first Volunteer Recognition Breakfast on Long Island, graciously hosted by Henry Schein. Photos from that event can be found here.

In other Partnership news, I’m thrilled to announce that we have added to our Connecticut program.
Robin Schwartz is a new Staff Attorney in the Hartford office, joining Program Director Priya Morganstern and Lisa Abate, Program Assistant.

Robin brings extensive experience in public service as a prosecutor, and is a longtime volunteer at several Connecticut nonprofits. Robin’s enthusiasm, interpersonal skills, and dedication to providing excellent legal help will be an asset to the Partnership and to our clients.

In the White Plains office, Jennifer McArdle has been promoted to Development and Grants Coordinator. Jennifer has been with the Partnership for a year and a half as Program Assistant, and we are excited for her to take her writing and technology skills, as well as her multi-tasking capabilities, into this role.

I’m also pleased to welcome Cathy Lueders, Assistant General Counsel and Senior Vice President at Mastercard, to our board of directors. Cathy was elected at the April board meeting, and we are looking forward to having her expertise and guidance as we work to empower nonprofits and improve our communities with free legal assistance.

Lastly, please mark your calendars for our 22nd Annual Gala Celebration on October 16, 2019. This year’s honorees are the Law, Franchise & Integrity team at Mastercard and Samir A. Gandhi, Managing Partner New York Office, Sidley Austin LLP.

I hope you’ll join us at Cipriani 42nd Street for what will be a spectacular evening!

With appreciation,

Nancy Eberhardt
Executive Director
