White Plains, NY, October 11, 2016 — Pro Bono Partnership, a nationally recognized provider of free business and transactional legal services to nonprofits, has announced that Lauran Susan D’Alessio has been elected to its Board of Directors. Ms. D’Alessio is Vice President and Assistant General Counsel, Corporate Transactions at Merck & Co., Inc., where she leads the group responsible for legal support on Merck’s major acquisitions, divestitures, joint ventures, licensing arrangements, supply agreements and other transactions involving its business strategy and financial objectives. Ms. D’Alessio joined Merck in 1991 as a senior attorney in the Manufacturing Division. She then moved on to roles of increasing responsibility in the Corporate Legal and Business Development groups. After working on the Merck – Schering Plough merger transaction, Ms. D’Alessio joined the Integration Management Office. She then joined the Global Compliance Organization in December 2009 as Vice President, GHH Compliance, until re-joining the Legal department in her current role.
Ms. D’Alessio received her J.D. from Cornell Law School in Ithaca, New York and her B.A. in political science from Muhlenberg College in Allentown, Pennsylvania.
