Please read the below for information on sexual harassment prevention training requirement in Connecticut, New York, and New Jersey.

Connecticut

All Connecticut employers with 3 or more employees must provide 2 hours of interactive sexual harassment prevention training (“training”) for all existing employees by October 1, 2020. For employees hired on or after October 1, 2019, the training must take place within 6 months of the employee’s start date. Employers with fewer than 3 employees must provide the training to all existing supervisory employees by October 1, 2020 or within 6 months of the employee becoming a new supervisor. After this initial training, employers will need to provide supplemental sexual harassment prevention training once every 10 years.

New York

New York implemented a law effective October 9, 2018, that requires all New York employers to provide employees sexual harassment prevention training annually.

New Jersey

New Jersey does not have any specific sexual harassment prevention training requirements. However, it is a best practice to provide such training to your New Jersey workforce.
