December 12, 2016 — In November 2016, the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Service issued an updated I-9 form that must be used by employers by January 22, 2017. The updated form is intended to reduce common errors on the form and to make the form easier to complete on a computer.
Employers must begin using the updated form, which is dated 11/14/2016, by January 22, 2017. Until that date, employers can use the updated form or the form that is dated 03/08/2013.
