The State of Connecticut enacted legislation in 2016 to address the lack of retirement planning options available to many private sector employees. This legislation created the Connecticut Retirement Security Authority (CRSA), which implemented MyCTSavings, a state-sponsored retirement savings program for private-sector employees whose employers do not offer a retirement savings plan. The program is available to employees who are at least 19 years of age, and it officially opened for employer registration as of April 1, 2022, with registration deadlines dependent upon the size of the employer.
