Pro Bono Partnership provides high-quality pro bono transactional legal assistance to community-based nonprofits in New York, New Jersey, and Connecticut, with the multiplier effect of positively impacting the lives of the thousands of individuals whom they serve.  We offer assistance on a wide variety of legal issues, including corporate (formation of new nonprofits, corporate governance issues, mergers, and dissolutions), employment, intellectual property, real estate, and tax matters.

Volunteering as a Law Student

Generally, our client matters are not available to law students unless they are supervised in an employment or clinic setting by a licensed attorney.  However, we offer both semester-long and summer internship opportunities.  Please visit our page on internship opportunities for more information.

Except for law students and recent graduates awaiting admission to the bar who are participating in our semester-long and summer internship programs, Pro Bono Partnership cannot (1) supervise law student and recent graduates awaiting admission to the bar or (2) sign the 50 hour pro bono requirement affidavit for admission to the New York Bar.

Opportunities for  Summer Associates

Summer associates at law firms or in-house legal departments in New York, New Jersey, or Connecticut are eligible to work on our client matters under the supervision of a licensed attorney.  They are also eligible to participate in our Summer Associate Transactional Research Project, which addresses research issues vital to the nonprofit sector.  Working on client matters or participating in the Transactional Research Project will fulfill all or a portion of New York State’s 50-Hour Pro Bono legal service requirement for bar applicants.  For more information about summer associate opportunities, please email volunteer@probonopartner.org.
