Pro Bono Partnership Honored by NJ Homeless Alliance

 

The New Jersey Alliance for the Homeless (NJAH) honored Pro Bono Partnership on November 8, 2002 at its Third Annual Conference “Ending Homelessness in Ten Years: Stepping Up to the Challenge.” The NJAH, an alliance of individuals and community organizations working together to end homelessness, recognized the Pro Bono Partnership for its work through volunteer attorneys to strengthen the capacity of New Jersey organizations that work on behalf of homeless families and children.

 

The Pro Bono Partnership is a legal resource center that coordinates volunteer lawyers to provide free business legal services to community-based nonprofit organizations serving the poor and disadvantaged populations in New Jersey, Westchester County, New York and Fairfield County, Connecticut. The Partnership’s clients work primarily in the areas of health and human services, affordable housing, neighborhood revitalization and economic development.

 

The Pro Bono Partnership has been instrumental in assisting several NJAH member organizations as well as NJAH itself with legal issues.” Explained Sandy Accomando, NJAH Chairperson and CEO of The Apostles House and St. James Community Development Center. “By providing free legal advice to non-profits in New Jersey, the Pro Bono Partnership has helped us further our missions to deliver quality services and provide affordable housing opportunities to persons and families who are homeless or at risk of homelessness all across New Jersey.”
